The Practice of Placing a Cover Over Your Spare Tyre

Installing an LPG System in your car means having to find the space to put the gas tank which can be longer than a metre. In a sedan type vehicle this is not a problem as you can utilize the space in the boot, with the only problem being that you lose some of your boot space, and you will not need any spare wheel covers.

However, in a wagon (station wagon) the best place to put the gas tank is in the wheel well under the cargo area floor. This means that the spare wheel now needs to be put somewhere else, and usually this is in the cargo area up against the wall directly behind the driver, where it will impede the drivers rear view as little as possible.

The problem to solve now (sounds a bit like the proverbial doctors new drug to fix the bad side effects of the previous drug he prescribed to you) is how to protect the items you carry in the cargo area on a day to day basis from a dirty wheel & tyre. This is where the spare wheel cover comes in - for $15 you can purchase a vinyl cover manufactured to the shape of the wheel that will not only protect goods you carry from the dirty wheel, but also makes the additional wheel look much more presentable and clean.

The spare wheel covers come in various colours, particulary black, dark grey and light grey. They are made from a reasonable quality vinyl and do not need to be made from high quality material as they are never sat on as a seat is or experience any hard wear, unless you happen to happen to do some Japanese Sumo wrestling in there.

Usually, a spare wheel cover, will be supplied by the company that converted your car to gas, but if this is not the case, we can certainly provide one for you.
